Northwest Side Community Development Corporation (NWSCDC) is pleased to announce an Economic Development Forum to be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Century City Tower, “30th Street Corridor Like You’ve Never Seen It Before.” This event will feature Joel Parker of HampMathews and Associates, a project leader for the Chevy Commons initiative which catalyzed significant institutional and private sector investment in Flint, MI.
We will also debut a video created by Adam Carr highlighting community perspective on the past, present and future of the north corridor area in Milwaukee.
Finally, a response panel will include top leadership from the key agencies to discuss coordinated strategy and next steps. Wyman Winston, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, Rocky Marcoux, Commissioner for the City of Milwaukee’s Department of City Development, Kevin Shafer, Executive Director of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, and Earl Buford, CEO of Employ Milwaukee will all discuss development strategy for the north area of the 30th Street Industrial Corridor. Laurie Parsons, President and Principal Engineer for Natural Resource Technology, will moderate the panel discussion.
The agenda for the event includes a continental breakfast and networking from 8:30am to 9:00am and a formal program from 9:00am to approximately 11:00am. An optional rooftop tour will be available after the program, to survey the landscape from the roof of the Century City Tower at 4201 N 27th Street.
