Meet the Community Organizer for NSP 1, Danitra Jones
NSP Area 1, or the “Parklawn” neighborhood, is bounded by Hampton Ave to the north, 30th Street Rail Corridor to the east, Capitol Dr. to the south, and N 51st street.
This vibrant community is home to approximately 9,849 residents living in 3,655 households. The majority of individuals in the Parklawn neighborhood are African-American (88%), with the total minority population reaching 94.07%. A significant percentage of the Parklawn population is comprised of children under the age of 18 (34%). Of the 2,513 families in the Parklawn area, 45% are unmarried families with their own children.
