Paradigm Sensors wins Technology Achievement Award

Paradigm Sensors, a tenant of the NWSCDC's Technology Incubator Center, has been named the recipient of the 2009 MIT Club of Wisconsin's Technology Achievement Award for a small company. Other recipients of the 2009 award are James Hyde (Department of Biophysics, Medical College of Wisconsin), Orion Energy Systems (Energy Efficiency and Directly Renewable Technology, Manitowoc), and the Venture Center at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton.

In 2008 Paradigm's i-SPECTM Q-100 Handheld Biodiesel Analyzer, built with technology acquired from Marquette University, was named by R&D Magazine one of the most technologically significant products of the year.Paradigm has expanded its workforce and investors have seized on the potential of the i-SPECTM to revolutionize biodiesel testing. Paradigm received funding from angel investors led by Silicon Pastures, SEI, and the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA).R&D Magazine's R&D Award has been won in previous years by the flashcube (1965), the automated teller machine (1973), the halogen lamp (1974), the fax machine (1975), the liquid crystal display (1980), Taxol anticancer drug (1993), and HDTV (1998).
