Thanks for a great Promise Zone Bike Ride!
This past Saturday, June 17 we had a fun and healthy Promise Zone Bike Ride in the 1st and 7th Aldermanic Districts near our offices at Century City Tower. We were thrilled to host Milwaukee Common Council President Ashanti Hamilton and Alderman Khalif Rainey on the ride. We couldn't have made it such a success without the support of our critical partners including the Milwaukee Common Council, Wisconsin Bike Federation, Black Girls Do Bike - Milwaukee Chapter, Bublr Bikes, and Mueller Communications. Thank you all! We started and ended the ride in Garden Homes Park, and stopped to talk about Century City 1 and Century City 2, Little Canada neighborhood and Lincoln Creek, the 30th Street rail corridor, Old North Milwaukee, and Lincoln Park and the Oak Leaf Trail. Here are a few pictures from the ride, and see the photo album for more!
The 5 mile route led us past major redevelopment areas, beautiful historic neighborhoods, schools, churches, community organizations, businesses, and environmental amenities as well. The day was hotter than expected, but we managed to avoid any rain and everyone had a great time!
