Want a FREE Tree for Your Yard?

With 100 tree saplings provided by the Argosy Foundation, NWSCDC is teaming up with Nearby Nature MKE to distribute free trees to residents and stakeholders on Milwaukee’s North Side. The bare root saplings are approximately 12-16 inches tall and will be delivered on a to-be-determined date in April. They will need to be planted ASAP on arrival in order to have the best chance at surviving and growing.

Tree varieties available are as follows: Bur Oak, Red Oak, and Shagbark Hickory. Planting is simple and only requires a shovel and some mulch. Tree planting and care instructions will be provided. Note that the trees will take a few years to establish and grow, but at maturity, they can be 60-80 feet tall!
