Opportunity Zones include NWSCDC priority areas

The US Treasury Secretary has just approved the designation of Economic Opportunity Zones in Wisconsin, including vital reinvestment areas in Milwaukee's Northwest side.  NWSCDC was one of the groups which provided input to the State of Wisconsin's designated Census Tracts for the Opportunity Zones.  We're very pleased that the selected areas include the 30th Street Corridor (and Century City I and Century City II areas), Northridge, and Granville.  There will be some months of Federal rule-making to establish this new program, and NWSCDC is engaging closely with our partners during this time to position Milwaukee's northwest side to benefit with this new economic development tool.Read more about the Economic Opportunity Zones in these recent articles:"Wisconsin's opportunity zones approved by the Treasury Department" Milwaukee BizTimesWHEDA Page on Opportunity Zones
