Rally for Safe Streets

Traffic safety is becoming an issue of huge concern. Recent crashes and fatalities near our neighborhoods point to the need for solutions that will make streets safer for everyone, including people of all ages walking, taking transit, biking, or driving. NWSCDC is listening to residents' concerns and getting involved!Join us for a Rally for Safe Streets on Monday, October 9th from 4pm to 5pm.  We will meet at the intersection of W Capitol Drive and N 31st Street at 4pm to get organized.  Then we'll spread out with signs, banners, speed guns, megaphones and more to show a presence at Capitol Drive from 27th Street to 35th Street. We are anticipating that many partners and residents will join the rally to show their support for safer streets.  We want to acknowledge partners including elected officials, the Milwaukee Police Department and the Wisconsin Bike Federation who are dedicating energy to traffic safety as well.  The WALKtober campaign is commemorating the pedestrians who were killed by traffic in 2017.  Find a WALKtober event near you in the coming weeks.Do you want to get involved?  Please share your name and tell us about nearby streets or intersections with safety concerns through this form. NWSCDC will collect responses to identify high-priority areas.  We hope to see you on October 9!
