Meet the Community Organizer for NSP Area 3, Sheila Smith
NSP Area 3, or the “Lincoln Park” neighborhood, is made up of the City of Milwaukee area (excluding Glendale) from Silver Spring Dr in the north, Lincoln Park in the east, the rail corridor near Purdue St / Cornell St in the south, and N Teutonia Ave to the west.
This beautiful neighborhood is home to approximately 7,041 residents living in 2,819 households. The majority of individuals in the Lincoln Park neighborhood are African-American (89%). A significant percentage of the Lincoln Park population is comprised of children under the age of 18 (22%). Of the 1,742 families in Lincoln Park, 36% are unmarried families with their own children.
